Sick Sick Sick

Well, this last couple of weeks have been interesting. Almost everyone in my family has been sick with something. Ruben started with a cold a couple of weeks ago and continued on with cough, sore throat, etc. He is still coughing! Whitney started to complain with a sore throat last Tuesday night after her basketball game. She went to school the next day and felt ok during the day. But in the evening around 6:00, she wasn't doing so well. She had a fever with a temp of 102.5. Whit's throat hurt so bad she could hardly swallow. She missed school on Thursday. Then on Friday, my mom and I and Abby and McKenna went to Powell to get groceries for Easter dinner. The whole time Abby was complaining of her tummy hurting. When we were on our way home, almost to Garland, she threw up. A lot of it! Pour thing! This continued through Sunday night until she fell asleep. Everything she would try to eat or drink came right back up. Monday morning she woke up and came running into my room and said, "Mommy, my tummy doesn't hurt anymore!" She was so excited to finally feel better! Abby and her sisters played all day long outside. Later that evening, daddy took them to the park while I stayed home and got some things done. This morning Abby woke up at 3:30 am and came into our bed and fell back asleep. At 4:30 am, she woke up and wanted to go and watch TV. Ok, whatever, I thought. Then at 5:30, just before Ruben woke up to go to work, I could hear her throwing up in the family room. She had her bowl that she has been carrying around since Friday and was throwing up in that. Bless her heart! Soooo, she stayed home from school today with a low grade fever and a really sore throat and a sore tummy! I pray that McKenna and I don't get the little bugs that have been going around our house. I am ready for us all to be healthy!
*This morning Abby had told me her throat hurt. So I said, "Can I look in your throat?" Abby opened wide and I said, "Yep, it's a little red." Then Abby asks, "Mommy, can I see your throat?" So I opened wide and said ahhhhhh. She said, "Yep, your goggles are red." I guess she meant to say tonsils!! LOL! Funny little girl!

A day at Preschool

Doing the Tooty Ta dance
Writing my name next to cousin Anessa

Grandma Cheryl
Last Wed. the 1st of April, I went to school with Abby. I try and volunteer every month. The day is usually full of excitement. When we arrived at school, we had to go and wash hands first thing. Then we get to set our place on the table for breakfast. We had cinnamon raisin toast with oranges. Mmmmm, it was good. After breakfast, the kids get to brush their teeth while they play the song called "Brush Rap" for 2 minutes. Then it was time for circle. This is when they get to sing their alphabet song, and do some movement. The picture above with Abby dancing, they are doing their favorite song called the Tooty Ta. It is hilarious to watch the kids dance to this song! At circle, they were instructed to go and get their notebooks and practice writing their name. They got to go anywhere in the classroom and do it. When they were finished with that, it was time to plan centers. Abby planned science area, computer area, and listening area. Then when they were through with centers, we got to go outside and play. After outside time, we came in and washed up to get ready for lunch. Cooker Sandy made a very delicious lunch. We had ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, pineapple, and rolls. It tasted really good. Then it was time to go home! I enjoyed spending the day with my daughter at preschool.

This is a picture of McKenna's dance group. This is a group of 1st and 2nd graders. A gal that has a photography business took these pictures. It is called Fleeting Moments Photography. We had to go down to the dance studio on a Saturday and have them taken. This dance year is 2008-2009.
Hot Mama!

This is Abby's little ballerina dancing group. This is a preschool group ages 4 and 5 years old. They are so fun to watch. This dance is 2008-2009.

Easter Bunny

I just barely got my scanner to work. It hasn't been working, so I got the computer expert (Ruben) on it. He usually doesn't quit until he figures things out. This was taken last Saturday, the 4th of April, at the Walmart in Cody. They were taking pictures with the Easter Bunny and giving away a free 5x7. Whitney said she was too old to have a picture taken with the Easter Bunny. I told her she didn't have to sit on his lap, she could sit on the bench next to her sisters. Nobody is never to old to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap! Anyway, we had a great day that day.

Hauling Rock

Yesterday, Ruben and I hauled rock into our place to put around the shop. We have been needing to do this since last summer. It was such a nice day yesterday that Ruben decided instead sitting in the house he would go haul a few loads. So he invited me to come along.
Thank goodness he knows how to run every piece of equipment that there is out there or we would be out of luck. It's nice to have such a talented husband that can do just about anything. And if he can't, he usually works at it until he can.

We ended up hauling 5 loads of rock. We got the rock from a friend. It sure is nice to have such great friends who are willing to help wherever and whenever they can. Especially the ones who are so generous.

We are so glad that is done and out of the way. We would have hated for it to rain before we had it hauled the rock in there. If so, we would have had a huge mud hole. I had a great time with my husband riding in the truck and spending the afternoon with him.

Studio Singers

Here is my brother singing "Ruby Baby", one of my grandma and I's favorite songs that the group sings.
On Friday night, April 3, we got to go and listen to the Studio Singers at the Powell College. My brother sings in the group and was performing for the second time that week. Friday started out as a pretty busy day. Ruben and I took the girls to school and Abby to granny's, and took off for Billings. I had a doctor's appointment at 11 am. After that, we went and saw Brandon Jolley in the hospital. He got in a bad accident at work and was injured pretty badly. We then went and ate at Red Lobster, went to Costco, and Walmart in Laurel. We left Laurel at about 3:45 pm and needed to be in Lovell by 5:15 for Whitney's basketball game. We barely made it right on time. After Whit's game, the girls, granny and I headed for Powell. My mom met us at McDonald's for a quick dinner so we could get over to the college by 7:00.

Waiting for the concert to start

We had a funfilled evening listening to all of the awesome talent that makes up the choir. Several of the students sang solos, and several had solo parts in some of the songs that the whole group sang together. They all have great voices and I especially love to hear my brother sing. He has a great talent and I hope he continues to use it throughout his life. Thanks Pat for sharing your talent with us.

Homework in Preschool?

Making faces at mom
Isn't she sweet

Deep concentration

Coloring, oh so carefull

Abigail loves to do her homework! Today she had 2 sets of pages to do. She was so excited to sit down and do her homework with her mom this afternoon. Abby had to cut out the pictures and then pair them up with eachother. Like apples go with the apple trees, the cow goes with the milk and icecream, etc. Then she decided to color them. She really enjoyed being able to look at the pictures and decide which things went together. Abby and I did another homework page that asked her to circle the people or things that help us decide what is healthy and what isn't. We had to also play a game called clothespin toss. She had to toss the clothespins into the basket, and when she had thrown them all, we had to count how many made into the basket and how many didn't. How many in the basket were little/big? How many were colored? Etc., etc. Abby had a lot of fun doing this activity because it was something we have never done before. Abby, I had a great afternoon with you today. Love, mom
