Ooohhh Shiny!
I kept forgetting to blog about Whitney getting her braces on. By then McKenna had already gotten hers on. So I decided to take a picture of both of them and write about it. Whitney got her braces on last October '08, at nine years old, with Dr. Bennion in Billings, Mt. She had to have two teeth pulled before she could get them on. That was not a very fun day. Whitney is such a worry wort. Everything turned out good though, and she survived. She has another check up in April and they will determine whether she will get them off yet or not. Whitney only got a total of 6 braces put on to straighten up her upper 4 teeth and make room for her molars to come in. She so far has had them on for 5 months. Whitney will get a full mouth of braces in a year or two.
McKenna just got her braces on March 16, 2009, with Dr. Moss in Cody, Wy at 7 years old. She too, only got six braces on. She has a terrible cross bite, so Dr. Moss wanted to go ahead and try to close in the space between her 2 front teeth, and make room for her 2 other teeth on top that have not come in yet. He also wanted to make sure that her top teeth will overlap her bottom teeth. McKenna had to go the week before and get all of her records done. Meaning, x-rays, pictures of her mouth before, measurements, and molds of her mouth. She did so good and acted very brave. She just seems so little to have braces. She will have to have them on for about 6 months. Later on, as she gets a little older, she too will have to get a full mouth of braces. They have both done really good at brushing and not eating hard or sticky things. They are excited to eventually having straight teeth. The baby sister, I'm sure, will be next on the list!
